The ongoing practice of yoga will lead to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with the environment. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible. It also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and hormonal systems. Yoga can also bring about emotional stability and clarity of the mind.At Thrive, we will be offering private and small group classes, tailored to each client’s abilities and needs. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Private 1:1 Yoga Therapy / Specialized Yoga
Yoga Therapy is a personalized therapeutic yoga program, suitable for those who have suffered injuries, are recovering from a serious illness or surgery, have a medical condition or a life long illness. It is a gentle, restorative program that gives the individual a personalized plan for wellness and takes into account the whole person: body mind and spirit.
The specialized yoga program runs for six weeks (meeting 1-2 times a week). It is structured around posture work, breathing work and relaxation techniques. The client is taught and guided through proven techniques that can improve, manage and alleviate their condition / symptoms. These techniques encourage better relaxation, correct breath control and an improved sleeping pattern. Clients learn to handle stress more effectively by responding rather than reacting to many stressful situations. The program is reviewed after 6 weeks. At this point, the client can then choose to continue with another 6 week program or to participate in the group yoga classes that will also be offered at Thrive Integrative Health.
